Christians and Cryptocurrency

Should christians be involved with buying and owning cryptocurrency?

For me and I am retired and most of my investments for stocks were done within an IRA received from a company I worked for. Most retired people are not into investing any longer. Other than that most are not involved with the stock marker.

Most young people having families live paycheck to paycheck and tend to go out for dinner if they have extra money plus other entertainment. Investing is the last thing on their minds except for company benefits like IRA's and that is it. Cryptocurrency is very speculative, high risk and shouldn't even be looked into unless you are able to live without the money and are willing to loose the money, which is possible.

Does the Bible say anything about trading?

To me yes it does. Jesus told a parable of the talents which is money. Trading was done in this parable.

Matthew 25:14-30 (KJV) For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money

There are many ways of trading not just the stock market. Some people buy used items and resell them and make money on used items, but definitely trading was involved.  The other thing I made bold was the several ability.  This to me represented having a knowledge of type thing.  So amounts were given based on that.  Not many young people have studied and know anything about the stock markets and have knowledge as to where to invest the money.

I see nothing wrong with investing in cryptocurrency but I would educate myself as it is different than even stock market investing. For this high risk they advise to only use 1-2% of your money into such things,
